AVE MARIA ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL CARIBBEAN AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
Ave Maria, FL., – June 18, 2024 – Ave Maria, an award-winning master planned community in Southwest Florida announces an inaugural event, Ave Caribbean Festival, to celebrate National Caribbean American Heritage Month. The event will be held on Saturday, June 29 from noon – 5:00 p.m. in the Ave Maria Town Center.
The event is spearheaded by two residents, Simone and Stassie, as well as the Ave Maria Master Association and will be open to the public. There will be dozens of vendor booths offering drinks, food, activities, and retail items for purchase. The Town Center’s restaurants are crafting special menu items to celebrate the islands including OASIS The Kitchen Lounge, Blue Agave Mexican Restaurant, Tropical Smoothie Café and The Pub & Grill at Ave Maria. Oil Well Craft Beer will be having a beer tent with all proceeds benefitting Our Lady of Guadalupe Family Life Center in Ave Maria.
Nostaljah Reggae Band will be performing on stage, with additional entertainment by a steel pan drummer, a pantomime performance in honor of Miss Lou Bennett, DJ Blackout, Ave Maria Dance Academy, StassieFit DanceTeam, a Caribbean-inspired fashion show, as well as the first Miss Junior Ave Caribbean Fest 2024 Pageant, hosted by Miss Ave Maria, USA.
This family-friendly event will be offering a special section dedicated to kids’ activities highlighting Caribbean culture through music, arts and literature. The Junkanoo Junction will feature various activities including inflatables, pottery painting, enrichment learning activities, face painting, hair braiding, a Rhythm and Reads tent which will host a handful of Caribbean children’s book authors. A carnival showcase will be the finale of the event.
