Ave Maria’s Backwoods Feed Expands Offerings

Misty McWilliams, owner of Backwoods Feed with dogNAPLES, FL., – November 1, 2024—   Starting with a dream to cater to domestic pets as well as farm animals, Misty McWilliams store, Backwoods Feed – formerly Dog Gone Cleaners – in Ave Maria, has expanded from its initial grooming services to include selling high quality, A-grade food products for pets. Backwoods Feed now offers pet grooming and pet food products that prioritize nutrition for the health and life longevity of pets.

Backwoods Feed inside store in Ave Maria, FLLocated in the Ave Maria Park of Commerce, Backwoods Feed draws customers from Ave Maria as well as the surrounding communities of Immokalee, Golden Gate, LaBelle and Clewiston. Ave Maria resident and business owner Misty McWilliams said, “Our goal here is to educate customers of our food products and what’s most suitable for their animal. We want our store to be a convenience for patrons and if you ask for it, we’ll order it to have in-store.”

Backwoods Feed concept expansion also included a store makeover that incorporates farm and vintage styles. McWilliams wants her customers to feel her vision of incorporating rustic farm life with modern farmhouse, “The majority of Backwoods Feed’s design is made of refurbished items. For example, our chandeliers are made from the cloth bags that initially stored animal feed.”
